Our Story …

We are really pleased to announce that we're taking part in Shitbox Rally 2021 Autumn!! This year, all the teams are driving their shitboxes from Alice Springs to Gold Coast via the Gulf of Carpentaria.

We have both had family and friends inflicted with these insidious nasty things we call cancer, some have recovered but all to many have not, we need this to stop and we are going to help in the best way we can by raising funds and spreading cheer along the way.

Shitbox Rally is the largest community lead fundraiser for the Cancer Council in Australia and is now in its 12th year. Part of the participation is that our team wish to raise way more than the $5,000 minimum to blow the $2,000,000 target out of the water!
These funds go to the Cancer Council and we are extremely proud to be doing our part to support such a worthy charity. The fundraising is the hard part, so any donation you can give is greatly appreciated. Please make sure to follow our progress via this page and the blog post below.

Not only do we help raise much needed funds, but the Rally itself takes us out into the remote communities of Australia. What do we do there, well we spend OUR money both Errol and I are saving in these places, think about 300 odd car's rolling into a small town of a few hundred people, getting supplies like Fuel, Food and drinks, about $10-20k plus per night poured into the local community, along the way we need to refuel, these funds are used by the communities for their own benefits, it is such a wonderful feeling knowing in some small way we are helping out where we can.

Here's what I'm doing …

Shitbox Rally is the adventure of a lifetime challenging participants and their cars, worth no more than $1,000, on a 7 day drive across Australia to raise money for cancer research.

The rally is not a race – it’s a fun, colourful, unpredictable adventure with participants travelling at their own pace in smaller groups. Vehicles often break down but “we never leave anyone behind” and each night is spent camping beneath the stars and celebrating the day’s achievements. It all adds up to an incredible opportunity to see Australia’s vast and beautiful countryside and make lifelong friends, many brought together after experiencing cancer themselves or seeing cancer impact family and friends.

Since it’s inception the rally has been the largest fundraiser for the Cancer Council nationally.

G'day It's Jeff, Here i go again, Yes again. i am so grateful to everyone who helped out the old team "Wolly Wombats" and what it meant to me and Dad, that i decided to do it all again, this time however my Co-pilot is a bit more vocal and may i say a bit large than life. but it's going to be a Blast. We know in these current uncertain times people may not be able to be as generous with their help and donations, but Errol and I are going to give one HELL of a red hot Go. we may not get to Alice for the start of the Rally, we may still be in lockdown here in Vic, but we are not thinking of that. evey cent we raise between now and May 2021 goes to cancer research, that is our important message to you and everyone else. Our goal is to make it safely to Alice Springs and back to good old Melbourne via the Gulf of Carpentaria and the Goldy after a refreshing relax in the sun of course, but 1st of all we need to get that $$ Ka-ching flowing in, so please if you can spare a few quid, donate to our page and #MakeCancerGone!

The Impact, Outcomes & Charity

Shitbox Rally is a dedicated fundraising event for cancer research with funds going to Cancer Council.

Cancer Council is one of the largest non-government funders of cancer research in Australia. We conduct and fund research studies across all cancers and all stages of the cancer journey.

Thanks to the community funds raised such as Shitbox Rally we can fund world-class research that reduces the impact of cancer for everyone.

Almost $24 million has been raised by Box Rallies to date, supporting ground-breaking projects such as:

  • A research study to develop a vaccine that protects against lymphoma cancers.
  • A research trial to standardise international guidelines on melanoma removal.
  • A research grant to revolutionise the treatment of pancreatic cancer.

These projects wouldn’t be possible without your support.
